About the role
Each summer we host a small cohort of medical interns across our flagship Thamel branch. The programme is structured, with rotations through cardiology, pediatrics, and the emergency room, and a final patient-care presentation in week eight.
This is a paid internship — modest, but enough to cover transport and lunches — and we expect candidates to treat it as real clinical work, not a shadowing exercise.
What you'll do
- Rotate through cardiology, pediatrics, and ER (roughly 3 weeks, 3 weeks, 2 weeks)
- Participate in daily handovers and weekly grand rounds
- Take patient histories under supervision and present at handover
- Maintain a reflective learning log shared with your assigned mentor
- Deliver a 10-minute case presentation in week eight
What we're looking for
- Final-year MBBS student at an NMC-recognised institution
- Currently enrolled — letter from the dean required at interview
- Genuine interest in one of cardiology, pediatrics, or emergency medicine
- Available for the full 8 weeks (mid-July to mid-September)
- Strong written and spoken English
What we offer
- NPR 25,000 monthly stipend
- Daily lunch on shift
- Direct mentorship from a named consultant for the whole programme
- Letter of recommendation for top performers
- Priority consideration for our junior residency programme
